Carmel Middle School and Harrison High School are the only schools in Colorado to offer this specialized program for 200 sixth, seventh, eighth, ninth and tenth graders across the district. Each student will demonstrate knowledge in a variety of ways utilizing a laptop, field trips, projects, in-depth hands on learning, and classroom interactions in the following areas:

  • Critical Thinking and reasoning
  • Information literacy
  • Economics and globalization
  • Math and science reasoning
  • Foreign language (Chinese)

Throughout the school year, Carmel utilizes the school action plan as a means to focus efforts toward improving student achievement.  While there is still work to be done on raising student achievement, Carmel students have made great gains in academic growth according to the Longitudinal Student Growth Model measurement used by the Colorado Department of Education.
