On Friday, May 16th Carmel Middle School held their 1st annual Science Fair and it was a huge success. Carmel's 6th, 7th and 8th grade students were tasked with creating a science project that explained their procedure with data tables, background information, hypothesis, analysis and their conclusion. Student's worked in small groups and presented their projects to other classes as well as the general public and every project was judged and evaluated.

Our own Vincent Weiss, Manager/Product and Training Development, was on hand to help with the judging along with Superintendent Mr. Andre Spencer. Mr. Spencer said "Our kids are amazing, amazing! When they put their minds to doing something they make it happen, they really do and it was evident Friday. Huge kudos to team, job well done." Vincent said, "I enjoyed being part of the judging and had a lot of interesting conversation with the students, I especially enjoyed hearing the students enthusiastically prove or disprove their hypothesis. The kids all did a great job." We tagged along with some of the judges and they had some pretty tough questions for the students.

Principal Steve Thiessen said he couldn't be prouder of the students and his team, Rachel Greenfield, Denis Ohlstrom, Jake Werlin, Sean DePaula and Robin Campbell and added, "Next year we will have the students enter the state competition."

Congratulations to the winners and all the project participants! Kudos to you.
